Terms & Conditions

Calgary · Chestermere · Okotoks · Alberta

These terms set out how Foothills Appliance Repair works with you — from booking a visit to paying for a completed repair. By booking an appointment or using our services, you agree to them.

How We Operate

Quoted Upfront. Approved Before We Start.

No repair work begins until you've seen the price and said yes — no obligation.

Section 1

Our Services

Foothills Appliance Repair provides residential, in-home repair and diagnostics for kitchen and laundry appliances — fridges and freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, and stoves and ranges — across Calgary, Chestermere, Okotoks, and the surrounding area. We service household appliances only; commercial and industrial units fall outside these terms.

Section 2

Booking & Appointments

You can book by phone or through our online form. We schedule arrival windows rather than exact times, and we'll do our best to keep you posted. To go ahead with a repair, an adult (18+) must be present at the address for the visit, and we'll need safe, clear access to the appliance and to power, water, or gas as required.

Section 3

Diagnostics, Quotes & Approval

Most visits begin with a diagnostic to find the fault, after which we give you a clear, upfront quote. No repair work begins until you approve that quote. A diagnostic or service-call fee may apply and is disclosed when you book; where we proceed with the repair, we'll tell you how that fee is handled. Quotes are estimates based on the fault as found — if we uncover additional or unrelated problems once work is underway, we'll stop and re-quote before continuing.

Section 4

Pricing & Payment

Payment is due in full on completion of the repair, unless we've agreed otherwise in writing. We accept card, e-transfer, and cash, and all prices are in Canadian dollars plus GST where applicable. Quotes are valid for 14 days. For special-order or non-stock parts we may require a deposit, and those parts may be non-refundable once ordered.

Section 5

Cancellations, Rescheduling & No-Shows

Need to change or cancel? Let us know as early as you can. Full details — including notice periods and any fees for missed appointments or no-shows — are set out in our Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Section 6

Parts

We source parts from reputable suppliers. Some repairs need special-order parts, which can affect timing. If you ask us to install a part you supplied, we may do so at our discretion — but our warranty won't cover that part. Replaced parts are disposed of unless you ask us to leave them with you at the time of service.

Section 7

Warranty

Completed repairs are backed by our 90-day warranty. What it covers, what it doesn't, and how to make a claim are set out in full on our Warranty page, which forms part of these terms.

Section 8

Your Responsibilities

  • Give us accurate information about the appliance and the problem
  • Make sure an adult (18+) is present and the work area is safe and accessible
  • Secure pets and clear space around the appliance before we arrive
  • Tell us about known hazards, prior repairs, or modifications to the unit
  • Remove or protect any valuables near the work area
Section 9

Safety & Right to Refuse

Our technicians' safety comes first. We may pause, decline, or reschedule a job if conditions are unsafe, if there's no safe access, or if a repair can't be carried out properly. We'll always explain why.

Section 10

Limitation of Liability

We carry out every repair with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law:

  • We are not responsible for pre-existing faults, wear, or damage not caused by our work, or for appliances already beyond economical repair.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — such as food spoilage, water damage, or lost time — arising from an appliance fault or time without a working unit.
  • Our total liability for any repair is limited to the amount you paid us for that repair.

Nothing in these terms removes or limits rights you have under the Alberta Consumer Protection Act, the Sale of Goods Act, or other applicable Canadian law.

Section 11

Website & Content

The content on this website — text, branding, and design — belongs to Foothills Appliance Repair and may not be copied or reused without permission. We aim to keep information accurate and current but can't guarantee it's free of errors.

Section 12

Governing Law & Changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. We may update them from time to time; the current version and its effective date are always posted on this page, and continuing to use our services means you accept the latest version.
